Each and every company is working on trying to eliminate unnecessary single-use products because behaviour change is hard. Some of the most challenging transitions for businesses and cafes include takeaway coffee cups, plastic cups, and plastic water bottles.

 

Despite raising awareness of the issue, over 600 billion disposable coffee cups are currently used each year globally. By the simple nature of these disposable products, takeaway packaging follows the customer out the door so cafe owners have little oversight or opportunity to do something with this waste once it has left. While they can provide compostable options or even return bins for single-use cups, these pathways are often rarely used because it simply isn't...convenient.
